OPPORTUNITY
Britain’s favourite breakfast is made by a 24/7 team. The company has a longstanding commitment to worker wellbeing, safety and inclusion. They were seeking a specialist provider who could engage their production and engineering teams effectively, by providing evidence-based support and resources grounded in the realities of shift work.
NIGHT CLUB’S SOLUTION
In March 2026, Night Club partnered with Weetabix to deliver a highly interactive sleep and wellbeing programme for shift workers at its Burton Latimer headquarters.
Across three days and three nights, Night Club reached 246 production and engineering colleagues through small-group education and dialogue workshops led by psychologists, sleep scientists and lifestyle medicine professionals. The sessions were designed specifically for shift workers, combining current sleep science with facilitators who understand the practical realities of working nights and rotating patterns.
The workshops were delivered alongside Night Club Flex, a pop-up sleep exhibition that transformed an on-site meeting room into an engaging learning environment. The programme helped colleagues understand the factors affecting sleep, energy and recovery, while creating space to share their experiences and feedback directly with the organisation.
To reflect Weetabix’s wellbeing priorities, Night Club placed additional emphasis on diet and mental wellbeing as integral parts of a healthy shift-working lifestyle. An advance engagement campaign – including posters, digital communications and briefings for trade union representatives and shift managers – helped build awareness and participation across the workforce.
Alongside employee education, Night Club captured anonymised workforce insight and provided Weetabix with a report containing colleague feedback, benchmarking against other employers and practical opportunities to strengthen future wellbeing support.
IMPACT
The programme achieved very high engagement, including among long-serving production colleagues who can sometimes be sceptical about workplace wellbeing initiatives.
Participants responded positively to the practical, shift-specific approach:
93% of participants were satisfied with the Night Club experience
82% learnt something new about improving the quality of their sleep
45% felt more confident speaking to their line manager about sleep-related difficulties
The sessions strengthened dialogue around sleep and fatigue in the workplace and supported colleagues to identify realistic changes they could make to improve recovery and wellbeing. Commitments included improving sleep environments, reducing caffeine consumption, limiting evening screen use, developing more consistent bedtime routines and using stress-management techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation.
NEXT STEPS
Following the success of the Burton Latimer programme, Weetabix is planning to roll out the same small-group workshops at two further manufacturing sites. Night Club will also return to headquarters to offer bookable drop-in sessions for colleagues seeking more in-depth personal advice on sleep, wellbeing and shift work.
Claire Canty, HR Director at Weetabix, said:
“Night Club - and the sessions - were fantastic. This initiative went down very well with the operators and engineers that joined. It was the perfect blend of education tips & tricks, with open dialogue and listening to the needs and experiences of our shift workers. The expert facilitators, all with different backgrounds, but all shift workers, pitched this brilliantly to really connect with our team.
We received great feedback about how much our teams valued and appreciated the investment here and the focus we were putting on wellbeing guidance that is relevant for shift work. They felt listened to, and not preached at (!), and could have an open dialogue that enabled them to get to know each other's situations and challenges a little more, building more empathy within the teams.
We’ve seen the positive impact Night Club has had on employee wellbeing and engagement and are rolling out to two further Weetabix production sites in the year to come. Not only do the sessions resonate well with our teams they also help us meet our safety & wellbeing ambitions for Weetabix.”
